TEC and RED Code and Standards Update

March 25, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Air Leakage and Duct Tightness Compliance Testing for the 2009, 2012 and 2015 IRC/IECC
This section of the webinar will explore the Air Leakage and Duct Tightness testing requirements of the 2009-2015 IRC/IECC. The 2009 IRC/IECC introduced an optional building air leakage test along with requirements for duct tightness testing if any of the ducts run outside of the thermal envelope. In the 2012 and 2015 versions, the air leakage test became mandatory. This section will discuss new provisions in the 2015 code along with issues and concerns that are not addressed in the code.

ASHRAE 62.2
This section of the webinar is presented by a member of the AHSRAE 62.2 committee, so participants will have the opportunity to have their questions and concerns addressed. Participants will understand how to use the new ASHRAE 62.2-2013 standard, ventilation and acceptable indoor air quality in low-rise residential buildings. This portion will focus on exiting dwellings and cover the details of the ventilation standard that is use across the country. The steps of sizing ventilation, both local and whole-building, are addressed in detail using the free web application by Residential Energy Dynamics (RED).

Participants of this webinar will be eligible to receive up to 1.5 BPI CEUs. (Please note that this is ONLY for BPI CEU’s. At this time TEC is not able to offer RESNET CEU’s for webinars.) If you are BPI certified please include your BPI number in the provided field when registering for this webinar. (Please include your BPI number even if you have submitted your BPI number to TEC before as TEC does NOT keep your BPI number on file.)

Please note that ALL TEC webinars are in Central Time.
