The Energy Conservatory Releases the DG-8 Micromanometer to Improve Accuracy in Key Building Pressure-Measurement Applications

Single-channel gauge offers high degree of accuracy for key building pressure measurements such as room pressures in houses and hospitals, radon mitigation, combustion appliance zone, HVAC static pressures, and others.

MINNEAPOLIS (October 20, 2020) – The Energy Conservatory (TEC) introduces the new DG-8 pressure gauge to give Weatherization, Home Performance and HVAC professionals a highly accurate gauge which supports several key pressure measurements needed to understand and solve residential home performance issues.

The DG-8 gauge offers blower door micromanometer accuracy as good as 0.9% of reading in a smaller, more cost-effective single channel option.  The DG-8 is a good choice for professionals to use in applications that do not require dual-channel pressure and flow measurements offered in a blower door-style gauge like the TEC DG-1000.

The single-channel DG-8 includes a large, easy-to-read color display and Bluetooth connection to the TEC Gauge app, which can store and share readings from the gauge.  The DG-8 is available for order on October 23rd, 2020.

“Our mission is to help builders create improved built environments through better measurements”,  said Steven Rogers, president of TEC. “And the release of the new DG-8 gauge is consistent with that mission by bringing the accuracy of our DG-1000 Pressure and Flow Gauge to single channel pressure measurements, supporting a variety of key building pressure measurement applications. These include diagnosing combustion appliance zone safety, troubleshooting comfort issues through room pressurization measurements, and completing zonal pressure diagnostics – which all require accurate pressure readings to deliver good results for homeowners”.
