Proper maintenance of testing equipment is vital to the accuracy and reliability of the information collected. Automobiles and motorcycles have regular inspection and repair schedules. HVAC equipment needs to be checked and cleaned on a regular basis. Pressure gauges and flow devices are the same but in the instrument world we call it recalibration.

When your digital gauge is received at TEC we provide a thorough inspection of the inside as well as the outside of the gauge. We take each gauge apart to inspect for any electrical issues, corrosion or battery leakage. We install a barrier to help deter future battery leakage issues which can affect the touch pad, electrical board and display of the digital gauge. After the inspection, but prior to any repairs are made, we then connect your gauge to our computer for a stable zero reading and then 10 pressure points positive and 10 points negative. This is done twice on each gauge, once when it comes in and then again after it has been repaired and recalibrated. And as always, no matter what work is performed, you always get back the product you send in to us. A full and detailed inspection is done for all product that is returned to TEC.

Effective August 1, 2016, the cost of a digital gauge recalibration will be $125, this includes the cost of shipping the gauge back to you by UPS ground service. Faster shipping services are available and will be added to the invoice. We have also reviewed all of the parts prices for our digital gauge, blower door fan, Duct Blaster® fan, aluminum frames and all of our products. Service rates are $125 per hour and all repairs will be billed at a minimum of half-hour of labor. Price changes have been based on the amount of time we spend on each product, and that time has been increasing, as well as increased costs for UPS, raw material costs other related costs. Hopefully your equipment will not need repairs or replacement parts, but be assured that we are doing our utmost to keep your testing equipment in the best possible condition. Always check your product manual for tests and checks that you can perform to help keep your equipment up and running.

Our turnaround for recalibration of digital gauges is two to three days from the day it shows up to the day we ship it back to you. We pride ourselves on being the only company in our industry to provide you with this level of outstanding service.

TEC is also looking at other ways in which we might be able to help you keep your digital gauge in top shape and keep you productive. Watch the TEC Newsletter in the future for more helpful features and services.
