Meeting the RESNET Equipment Calibration Requirements. Learn From The Experts

August 27, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

We will be participating in a RESNET webinar

Topic: Meeting the RESNET Equipment Calibration Requirements.  Learn From The Experts

Date: Thursday, August 27

Time: 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Eastern time (2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Central time)

Description: While most HERS Providers and Raters are aware that the RESNET Standards require that blower door and duct testing equipment be “field tested annually for calibration by the HERS Provider or Rater,” many may not be fully up to speed on exactly how to do the field calibration.  Do you have to send all the equipment back to the manufacturer once per year?  Can you just send the manometer to the manufacturer and you’re good to go?  For any allowable “self-calibration” options, what exactly am I supposed to do?  What about the fact that some manufacturers are good with calibration every three years, but RESNET requires calibration annually?  Which do we follow?  Are you, as a Quality Assurance Designee, knowledgeable enough about equipment calibration to evaluate if Providers and their Raters are even meeting the RESNET requirements?  This QA Designee Roundtable will make you more knowledgeable and provide clear answers to the other questions that many are asking, or at the very least may be thinking.

TEC will be a guest speaker in this webinar. During our session we will discuss:

  • Describe the calibration requirements for your blower door and duct leakage equipment, e.g. what must be sent to you for calibration versus what can be calibrated by the Rater, and also frequency?
  • Brief pictorial overview of how any self-calibration can be done.
  • Include any tips and trick for how to do calibration more efficiently.

RESNET CEU’s: If you have any questions regarding RESNET CEU’s or any other questions about this webinar, please contact RESNET directly.
