Enclosure integrity testing uses a Blower Door to measure the total leakage area of rooms protected by fire suppression systems. The measured leakage area from the Blower Door test can then be used to estimate retention times for various clean agent fire extinguishing systems installed in the protected room. Procedures for conducting enclosure integrity tests with a Blower Door are contained in Appendix C of NFPA 2001.

The Energy Conservatory works with Fire Safety Technology to provide the equipment, software and training needed to conduct enclosure integrity testing. Fire Safety Technology combines the Minneapolis Blower Door system along with its own EIT Quick Test 2001 Enclosure Integrity Software and on-site training to provide a comprehensive package for the fire safety industry. Fire Safety Technology has been providing enclosure testing equipment and training since 1989.
